Mid-term
- Seriously improve and refine realistic anime style
- Completely re-define 4005 style to expand to new avenues (I've exhausted the current style, and to get what I want out of my art I need to push it further)
- Continue experimentation with new concepts, poses, compositions; do not get stuck in a rut.
- Continue improving lighting and fx.
- Put out more high detail, well-lit, impressive pieces.
- Continue improving facial expressions.
- Absolutely nail flip-checking so drawings look exactly the same when flipped.

This may be the first issue of a rage/vent journal series. Please, feel free to NOT read this, you may find yourself insulted by my anger and volley of opinions.

Australia's mentality of anime
I don't find this upsetting at all really. Screw what people think, but over time the immaturity ...and stupidity of many people has gotten to annoy the hell out of me.

From what it seems, Australia's mentality of Anime is that it's all pornography. Like seriously, at first I thought it was just my area, but it really seems to be the whole fucking continent.

The reactions

This may be down to teenage guys alone and their extremely sick views on the art form, but there seems to be substantial visual evidence that i've seen from time to time during trips and my old job at a JB-HI store of young adults finding it hilarious;

"Why are they making kids watch this? hurr durr american animation is better. King of the Hill is a genuine show!"

For example, my latest deviation is a symbolic piece of the two conflicting emotions of one of my characters, and bam, suddenly:

Person 1 "Why is she looking up her skirt?" (This guy got 2 likes)

Person 2 "69"

I mean seriously? Is this what gets you up in the morning? I didn't really intend it to be pornographic. But people can't help themselves... can they?

Putting it bluntly: This fucking pisses me off. I can't even consider adding touches of fan service to my works because my "fans" will assume there will be tentacles or something next minute.

For a competition that i'm entering next month, i've decided upon deliberately re-editing a pic so that even the absolute minimalistic amount of shoulder showing on a girl is covered up with a collarless shirt. So yep, let's stick to conservative art. Yay! To be perfectly honest, I don't actively promote drawing anime pornography. I'm against drawing it, (maybe because i've been forced to)

I guess the greater majority of teenage society just can't take symbolic art - or what anime truly is - seriously.

Where they're wrong

Maybe all artists are confined to a materialistic society that takes everything literally, and can't understand visually presented emotion. Abstract art is like a metaphor, absurdism within language and feeling that cannot be real; but the drastic nature of how absurd it really is heightens the thing it's describing, making it feel fresh and vibrant - as if it is actually happening.

It's similar to what makes anime appealing. Is not solely the pornographic undertones (that actually don't happen in every anime, WOULDN'T YOU KNOW) that make people watch it. Fan service sometimes, in part, humor as well
